(A) Construction :
These drums typically have a steel outer shell, made from mild steel (MS). Inside, they have a liner made of HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene). This gives them a dual-layer build: the strength and structural integrity of steel + the chemical resistance and inertness of plastic.
(B) Advantages :
Corrosion resistance / chemical compatibility: The HDPE liner protects the contents from contacting the steel, which is very useful for chemicals that would otherwise corrode steel.
Strength: The steel shell provides mechanical strength and durability.
Stacking and storage: Designs (e.g., conical shapes) help reduce storage costs and make nesting or palletizing easier.
UN certification: Some are UN-approved for transporting hazardous materials.
(C) Uses :
Transporting and storing corrosive or hazardous chemicals (e.g., agrochemicals, pesticides, industrial intermediates). Any situation where you need chemical compatibility but also robust packaging.
